Side Table Makeover

Another kijiji find! This side table was in rough shape - it looked like someone took a hammer to the top of it. BUT for $20 I thought it was worth trying to fix up. Turned out to be a great addition to our guest room.

Vintage Desk Makeover

It took 10 months of me working from home to finally get a real desk. Got this vintage desk off Kijiji, but it was a little worse for wear. Lots of scratches up top and a poorly done mending with glue on a part of the frame. But we fixed her up and now she looks brand new!

Upgraded an old rusted garden chandelier - this might be the easiest DIY project I have ever done. I included a 'how to' guide, but it hardly needs any instruction.

I tried my hand creating mercury glass panes with this old sconce in our backyard. I would say it turned out okay. Not my best work, but still looks a lot better than it did before!

Farm Style Table Top

This table top used to be an old vintage door, which was cool, but not very practical. My kids have a knack for crumbs and the panels of the door were great for storing them - gross. So we refinished the top. It’s a quick and easy update for a variety of table bases.

Deck Box

Anyone have a backyard littered with kids toys? We do. Then I got a big ugly tub to put them in, but that filled up and also looked terrible. So we built this deck box – looks great, holds (and hides) all the toys! It would also work great to store cushions or garden supplies.

Vintage Mirror

I love the Gleaming Primrose Mirror from Anthropologie, but not the price. Rather than spending the money, I thought I would try my hand at a DIY makeover on a second-hand mirror I found on Kijiji. I could not find the right size, but liked the shape of this one, so I took the bold step of also resizing it. I have never cut glass, so I thought this project was doomed for a Pinterest Fail, but I was happily surprised at how it turned out. Best part - it cost a tenth of the one from Anthropologie!
