I love the Gleaming Primrose Mirror from Anthropologie, but not the price. Rather than spending the money, I thought I would try my hand at a DIY makeover on a second-hand mirror I found on Kijiji. I could not find the right size, but liked the shape of this one, so I took the bold step of also resizing it. I have never cut glass, so I thought this project was doomed for a Pinterest Fail, but I was happily surprised at how it turned out. Best part - it cost a tenth of the one from Anthropologie! We are backyard people. We LOVE our outdoor space, and soak it up any chance we get! We needed a table that could host more people, but still left movement for play. Cannot wait to share great food and even better wine around this table!
Skill Level: Intermediate. IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME! And there is nothing I love more than cozy holiday decorations. Our now family of 4 (5 counting the dog) needed a few more stocking to hang by the fireplace with care. I found some GREAT fabrics – with stockings I think the more textures the better! Details below.
Skill level: Beginner I have said this before, but I will say it again, I love French design. I especially love the opulence of French Provincial furniture. So when I found this piece second hand I had to have it! All it needed was a little love and a new life. Here is the before and after: Skill Level: beginner to Intermediate Made from mostly reused materials I made this fun VW pillow to go with baby #2's "adventure" themed nursery. It's great for babies - soft with lots of textures and features to look it. It could also be done in so many colours or patterns.
Skill Level: Intermediate sewer For Baby 2 I'm switching up the nursery to be "adventure and travel" themed. I love all things vintage, so this cushion was a cute idea for something fun and cozy!
Skill Level: Intermediate I inherited this vintage sewing table from my Grandmother, and we have had it on display it in our home for a few years. My Grandma was a woman ahead of her time. She had a quick-wit, a feisty attitude (understatement) and an unstoppable optimism. So in honour of her, I thought I would give it an update. I think she’d be happy with how it turned out!
Skill Level: Beginner Full disclosure, by no means am I a quitter, so I am sure there are better techniques out there. This is my first go at, but I am pretty happy with the results and so is E.
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate Our little guy is getting bigger and more independent, which means strapping him into a highchair is getting challenging. We wanted to get him a kids table, but they start at $100 – and that’s just for the table! So, we decided to build one. It cost us under $50 for all the materials and what’s even better, it looks great!
