Our little one loves to stand in his crib, often when he should be sleeping, and while he is standing he gnaws on the rail. So, to protect his teeth, and let’s be honest the not-so-inexpensive-crib, I made a simple crib rail bumper.

What is cuter than one baby eating cake? Three babies eating cake! Here is E and his buddies (as well as the cutest little couple) H & M, at their First Birthday party. Since the cake smash is the 'main event', I wanted something fun and simple to decorate their highchairs. Strip bunting and marquee letters worked great and looked pefect in photos.
Skill Level: beginner Our baby boy just turned one! To celebrate, we threw a party with our family and friends. We let our little one dive into his very own cake made just for him by his Nana. I cannot resist a good baby cake smash, they are just so cute!
Skill Level: Beginner After we built the Pallet Chaise Lounger, we realized we could use a table to go with it. I had a vintage door from our wedding décor that I wanted to incorporate, so all I needed was the base. The pipe worked out great; easy to put together, looks good, durable and weather friendly. Skill Level: Beginner Made from some reused material I love the combination of comfy indoor living spaces, but with the beauty of being outside. We just refinished our deck (another post for another day) and I wanted a place we could kickback and enjoy the summer. I also did not want to clean out our piggy bank (outdoor furniture is pricey!). So we went in search of pallets (yay free!) and I made the cushions to go with it. Made from some reused material I have had this oak wardrobe for nearly 30 years; it came with the bedroom set my parents got me when I was 2. It is a great piece of solid furniture, but it needed an update. I did the makeover about a year ago, so unfortunately I do not have pictures to go with the steps. Luckily it’s very straightforward and easy to do! Skill Level: Beginner Made from mostly reused material These pillows are easy to make and full of character. Made with a simple design, they can be done in any size you desire. And the polar fleece make them oh so soft!
Skill level: Beginner I have had this bookshelf for about 15-20 years and decided to give it a makeover to use in our baby’s room, but the design can be used in “adult” spaces as well. The piece is made from particleboard with a real wood veneer, making it a little easier to work with than a laminate finish. This can be done with laminate, but priming so the paint doesn’t scratch will be key. Skill Level: Beginner Made from mostly reused material My parents bought me this desk when I was about 2 years old, and after almost 30 years it was looking a little worn and needed an update. It is made from solid oak, so it was still in pretty good shape, but after years of use, it had a few “love marks”. While I like the look of natural wood, I wanted to try something new so decided to give it a two-tone look, with the base done in white wash and the top stained a dark chocolate.
