Flintstones, meet the Flintstones! Have a ya-ba-da-ba-do time! These three sure had a good time!

Could there be a cuter trio than Bam Bam, Pebbles and Dino? These costumes were a hit, and perfect for rambunctious toddlers hopped up on candy. Check out a few tips on how to get started with the Dino costume. 

Skill Level: beginner sewer.

Notions:
  • Hot pink (or bright purple) sweat suit with hood
  • Hot pink (or bright purple) fleece
  • Black felt
  • Thick back pipe cleaners
  • Blue ribbon
  • Gold foam paper (with peal and stick)
  • Hot glue
  • Tacky glue
 
Tips:
  • Cut ovals and circles of different sizes and lay them out on the hoodie before gluing. Once in place, use use tacky glue. Be sure to place paper between the hoodie so it doesn't leak through.
  • For the hair, cut a small slit in the hood, push the base of the hair through and sew them closed together.  
  • For the knees, cut spirals out of the black felt. 
  • For the tail, stuff it really well with batting so it sticks out. Then, rip the back seam of the pants open, push the base of the tail through and sew them closed together.

Notions for Mike:

  • Lime green t-shirt
  • White felt
  • Black felt
  • Blue felt
  • Tacky glue

Tips:
  • For the t-shirts, Michaels generally has a wide selection of colours, start there. 
  • Use house hold objects like bowls to trace the outline of the eye parts. 
  • Have fun with the mouth! Use white felt for the teeth overlaid on the black felt. 

Notions for Sully:
  • Bright blue t-shirt
  • Bright blue fleece or minky fabric
  • Lilac fleece
  • Grey fleece
  • Batting
  • Tacky glue

Tips:
  • For the t-shirts, Michaels generally has a wide selection of colours, start there. 
  • For the hood, use an hoodie from your closet as a patter, add additional length and width.
  • For the belly and spots, use tacky glue and be sure to place paper between the shirt so it doesn't leak through to the back.
  • For the horns, stuff them really well with batting so they are upright. Then, cut small slits in the hood, push the base of the horns through and sew them closed together.
