I love rich textures and bold prints - this dress has both! The floral velour was meant for a different project but I decided to go another direction. I did not plan this out ahead of time like I usually do, it was sort of an experiment. Which means I took no pictures along the way... but I have a few tricks that I learned as I went!

I used this pattern as a guide for my flutter sleeves. At the start I made the upper part too rounded, which give the sleeve a more constructed look. I then cut it down to make the curve of the sleeve more gradual.
When making your pattern, give yourself lots of fabric to work with for the wrap. I started with the bottom more rectangular, then pinned and played around with the wrap to get it right. I also used an elastic sewn into the waist to give it more shape.
