I love rich textures and bold prints - this dress has both! The floral velour was meant for a different project but I decided to go another direction. I did not plan this out ahead of time like I usually do, it was sort of an experiment. Which means I took no pictures along the way... but I have a few tricks that I learned as I went!

Full disclosure, I suck at rounded hems. But I will share some of the tricks I learned along the way. AND Pockets! Because who doesn't love a skirt with pockets!?
Skill Level: Intermediate I'm always trying to capture that French style. Beautiful and simple. I made this skirt to look elegant, but still be comfy to wear all day (hello elastic waistband). It's a great piece that can be dressed up or dressed down.
Skill level: Intermediate I made this kimono for all the festivals I attend; and by festivals I mean the kiddie pool in our backyard (#momlife). This is a great project to put your own personal spin on – you can add fringe, embellish the edges, do it in lace, or a silky charmeuse, so many options! Skill Level: Intermediate sewer. Made from sustainable bamboo fabric This skirt is uber comfy and highly versatile. Easy to pull on and dress up or down. While anyone can make and wear this skirt, I specifically designed it to be high-waisted so that when I pull my top up to nurse my baby, I don’t have to expose my midsection. Hurray for function and style! Skill Level: beginner to Intermediate sewer. Made from sustainable bamboo fabric Here in Southern Alberta we are know for our Chinooks. It’s our reprieve from winter. The sun comes out, the snow melts and it feels like Spring – in the middle of February. This skirt is perfect for those beautiful blue days!
Skill Level: Beginner sewer Paris is always a good idea. I could not agree more with Audrey Hepburn! I love the simplicity of Parisian style, that certain je ne sais quoi. With that in mind, I created this skirt for a bold and effortless look.
Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced sewer. I created this romantic skirt for our ‘whimsy woodland picnic’ engagement photos. I was looking for something that had a hint of vintage but was fun and girly too. I also love details so I added a scalloped hem on the liner and a pearly broch over the back closure.
Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced sewer. I’m a fan of putting a twist on a classic. This skirt is reminiscence of old Hollywood but with a modern flare. I also love Chinese brocade and damask and wanted to make a skirt worthy of its elegance.
